Mary has reported on many key royal occasions: She was among the first to break the news of the death of the Queen Mother in 2002, and was at Westminster Abbey for the state funeral.

She presented special programmes on the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilees, and made an hour-long documentary marking Her Majesty’s 80th birthday – “The Girl Who Would Be Queen”, incorporating previously unseen film footage from the private royal collection.

Mary played a key role in ITV’s acclaimed coverage of Prince William’s wedding to Catherine Middleton in 2011. She followed their first official tour together, to Canada, and the following year, to Australia and the Solomon Islands. Both resulting documentaries – ‘Kate in Canada’ and ‘William and Kate in the South Seas’ – reflected a very modern royal couple.

She announced the birth of Prince George in a special newflash programme in July 2013.
